Always Remember Never Forget

Let us remember all the innocent men and women who died today at the hands of terrorists. And, please don't forget why we are fighting the war on terror now. It's to prevent another Sept. 11 from ever happening again.

I know it's not Christmas. But, my mom would play the Hallelujah Chorus when me and Stephen would start school. So, in honor to my mom (and to carry on the tradition). I will play it on my blog.

the story of "The Fire"

Well, as many of my facebook friends know my van caught fire outside of Malad, Id. on Sunday. This is the story of what happened.
We stopped in Malad to top off our gas and I ran inside to get some snacks and a few of those scratch lotto tickets (I believe this fire is punishment for me gambling). Neil wanted me to drive the rest of the way. So, he went to sleep and I got on the freeway. About 10 minutes later I started to smell smoke and noticed that my airconditioner vents had smoke coming out of them. I screamed and Neil wokeup and told me to slow down and pull over. I had no brakes whatsoever. I was actually standing on my brakes to get my van stopped. I finally got the van stopped and pulled over. Neil jumped out and I popped the hood. I pulled the hood release so hard that I broke it. The kids jumped out of the van and Neil put out the fire. Just for information O.J. works well to put out fires, milk isn't to great at it. Neil did get a mild burn on his hand from grabbing the hood release. The engine is a total mess. The battery is melted, melted alot of the wiring, the oil and transmission dipstick, and alot of parts that I don't know the names of are also melted or damaged in some way. There is some smoke damage inside the van.
We have no clue what caused the fire. We are glad that our family is safe and that none of our belongings are very damaged. The kids were so good while all this was happening. They didn't worry about grabbing any of their things when they jumped out. A very nice couple, that goes to Utah State, pulled over and sat with my children to keep them busy while Neil and I dealt with this mess. I never got their names, but I know that they were angels sent by my Heavenly Father to help us during this.

These are some of the photos of the storm that moved through Salt Lake last week. We had lightening strike so close to the house that it shook it. It was scary and yet cool all at the same time.

15 yrs

Happy Anniversary to my most wonderful husband. We've been together for 15 years. Through alot of good times and some bad. But, we've made it this far. I love you so much, and this is to another happy 15 yrs.

Yesterday we took the kids to the Oquirrh Mountian Temple. It was so beautiful. The kids really enjoyed themselves. After that we went out to dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. While we were eating the waitresses got up to dance the chacha and (only Andy would do this) Andy got up to dance with them. One of the waitresses took some pictures of Andy dancing and posted them on joescrabshack.com. So I was able to download them.

taking the kids shooting

We took the kids shooting last week. They love going out and learning about guns, and it gives us a chance to teach them how to be safe with them. We can also so them what a gun can do if you are not careful with it. Andy had the funnest time out there. He was right on target everytime he shot. The video is Andy shooting Neil's (I think it's called this) 500 caliber pistol. It is used for hunting purposes. It was on mythbusters last Wedensday to see if it could blow off you thumb if you hold it wrong (they proved that it can). The gun is loud, so you might want to turn down the sound.
