Andy's 11!

Andy turned 11 yrs. old on March 23. I guess turning 11 has been a very good thing to happen to him because he's had a lot of stuff going on in his life lately. He recieved his Arrow of Light. He won a $50.00 savings bond at the science fair. And, he's been doing so well in school. I'm so proud of him!

just a quick update

I can't believe February is almost over. It's gone by so fast and I haven't had a chance to update my blog. So, I'll do a quick overview.

Valentines Day was the best. My kids spoiled me rotten (yes, I said my kids not my husband). They wanted to give their favorite valentine, me, a present. And, boy did I get presents. Felicia gave me this beautiful necklace and earring set. Nick gave me a cute CTR necklace. And, Andy bought me a very pretty watch. Poor Neil didn't know what to get me, so we both decided to have a quite dinner and watched the olympics together that night. Sometimes just being alone together is better than any present.

We found out that Andy will be getting his Arrow of Light on March 3rd. He's been waiting since last year to actually recieve it.

My birthday was on the 24th. It turned out so great. Neil bought me flowers and took me out to dinner with the kids. He also went to Marie Calendars and bought me my two favorite pies from there. I was totally depressed with this birthday coming up because I was really missing my mom. But, a few little things happened to make it really special.

It doesn't take much to make me realize how truely blessed I am. I have a wonderful family. My kids are great, little trouble makers, but they are great kids. I have a terrific husband who works hard and is an awesome dad.

I'm so grateful to have the gospel in my life. I don't know what I would do without it. It is what keeps me centered and, hopefully, on the right path. I know that I'll be with my family forever. And, that knowledge has helped me get through some really tough times. I have a very strong testimony of the Atonement and it's power it my life.

Goodbye 2009

2009 was a very interesting year for my family. Neil started it off by wrecking the van and he decided to end it by leaving his debit card at Cabelas! Our family lost a wonderful person last year, Neil's Uncle Deon. I had two surgeries within a few months of each other. Since Neil didn't destroy the van when he wrecked it, the van decided to blow up on our way home from Idaho. And, because I guess my body has no more parts to lose, Neil's right kidney decided it would be fun to go on the fritz. And, that's only a few of the wonderful things 2009 threw at us. I hope that 2010 will be a little better, but I have some inside information on that. One of my awesome Aunts has cancer and most likely won't make it to spring. So, I hope that that is the only bad thing that will happen this year.

Felicia decided that she was to old to go trick or treating this year. So, she wanted to stay home and hand out candy instead. The only problem is is that we never get any kids because they have to go to the back of the house. So, Felicia dressed up as a scarecrow and put a pumpkin on her head (my Uncle Matt does that on Halloween and that's where we got the idea from). She sat outside by the front of the house for almost 3 hours while I took the boys and my niece out. We got so many trick or treaters. None of them realized that there was a person in that costume. Everytime someone put there hand in the bowl to get candy Felicia would grab it. She scared the crap out of some teenagers, made one scream like a little girl. It was great!
On a side note Andy and Nick were Thing 1 and Thing 2. Their costumes, I think, turned out very cute. They got tons of candy. I dressed up as an evil fairy, but I've got no pictures of my costume, it was pretty cool though.

Andy earned his Webelos badge and received at the Blue and Gold dinner the troop had last month. He also received a bunch of the pins that he earned. Our troop is in the process of getting new leaders, so alot of his awards had to be put off until we could get leaders. He has earned his Arrow of Light, he just hasn't got it yet. I'm so proud of him. I can't believe that he still has until March and than he'll be with the 11 year olds. Nicholas will join the cubscouts in May. He is so excited, because than he'll be like Andy.
