The kids’ elementary school holds a "family night" every couple of months. There are treats, activities, and you can meet with the kids' teachers. The theme of the one in January was literacy. So, every grade and the staff and facility had to make "literacy trees". Each class chose a favorite author or theme and then decorated a Christmas style tree around that theme. Felicia’s class chose the true story of Sadako and the 1,000 paper cranes (very good book that I suggest everyone reads). Andrew's class chose literacy vs. math. Nick's class chose "Cat in the Hat". And, Title One (where I work) chose Twilight. It was so fun to see all the different trees that all the classes and staff made.
