the 3rd annual "school is starting" tribute

It is that most wonderful time of year when back to school season starts. So in honor of my mom my blog will once again play the Hallelujah Chorus. She would play this when me and Steve went back to school, and I do it mostly in memory to her.

16 yrs. and counting

Yesterday Neil and I celebrated our 16th anniversary. I was so glad that he was able to be home to celebrate it. We decided to stay at Little America Hotel and to do their bed and breakfast suite that they have. It was so beautiful, they had layed rose petals on the bed and it had a great view of the Salt Lake Valley (if you are daring enough, unlike me, to go stand on the balcony). We walked through Temple Square on our way to dinner at The Roof Resturant. That place is quite spendy, but the food is delicious. The breakfast at the hotel this morning was amazing, to say the least. There was a plate of fruit, a plate of muffins, a plate of bagels and locs (I hope I spelled that right). We also had homefried potatoes, eggs benedict, half a tomatoe. And, if that wasn't enough there was this huge fruit and yogurt parfait. The food was wonderful, and all my dieting and exercise is pretty much shot with just these two meals (but it was so worth it).

Neil is on his way home. He has just had a really bad feeling since last night. And, the weather for where he is headed to next isn't looking that great. He made it about 1/4 of the way, hopefully he can do this next year and be a little more prepared for all the stupid things that can go wrong. I hope you all enjoyed the pictures and following him and Andy on their adventure.

Day 3

Todays adventure: Blowing a tire on the trailor in the middle of nowhere Arkansas. Having to have the trailor towed to your hotel. And, while searching for a tire you find out that every place that is open doesn't carry that tire.

where in the USA is Neil and Andrew?

Neil and Andy are on their totally crazy 48 state, 10 days, on a motorcycle trip. So, I thought it'd be fun to post pictures of Andy in each state. I'll keep updating this post as I get more pictures.
Day 1:Beginning Milage

where did May go?

I can't believe that May went by so fast. It's been such a busy month and I forgot to blog all the things that have happened in my family this month. So, I'll just give a quick run down.

1: Nick turned 8 on May 18th. We had a little party at our house for him. He was so spoiled and totally loved his presents. He will be baptized this Saturday (I am still in denial that my baby is getting baptized).




2: Woodrow Wilson held it's annual Jog-a-thon. It is to raise money for an organization called Heifer International. The kids earn one dollar for every mile they run and they run three miles. There are over 600 kids at the school so that can really add up. After they run there grade decides where the money should go and what animals they'll buy with it. There is also prizes for the top three runners, boys and girls, in each grade and a prize for the faster runner, boys and girls, out of the whole school. This is a really big deal for these kids, and they look forward to it every year. These photos should give you an idea of how many kids, and parents, run in this thing.



3. Since CRT's are offically over we were able to go party at Hollywood Connections.
2nd grade through 6th grade is able to go because they to the CRT's (it's their reward for taking them). It's really fun and very loud!
4: Neil and Andy are also getting ready for their big trip. They leave next week and will be gone for about 10 days. I can't imagine 10 days on a motorcycle. My rearend hurts just thinking about it. I just hope they have fun. When they leave I will keep my blog and my facebook page updated so all my friends and family can follow them on their trip.
